Born in 1977 in Grenoble (France), Alexandre Piot began his career as a young musician and singer / performer. He acquired his first experiences with the media when he released his first single in 1990. A graduate of Coventry University in England, he moved to London where he became a sound engineer and then artistic director of many projects. In 2003, Alexandre and his business partner Roman Jurik founded UPL, a video and multimedia production company still based in London.
UPL is quickly recognised, producing numerous corporate films and music videos for prestigious clients such as Sony, EMI, Universal, BT, HSBC and Westminster Council. Alexandre is associate producer of the horror movie “Temptation”, which won the Gorezone Award for Best British Horror Film. He continues with the documentary film on Ibiza, “And The Beat Goes On”.
In 2009, he founded UPL France and produced “Les Amours Secrètes”, a feature film with Anémone and Richard Bohringer. The film is a success in France. UPL is also distributor of the film and DVD.
2012: Alexandre is executive producer of Kayder Ayd’s film “Five Thirteen” presented at the Cannes Film Festival. UPL distributes the film in cinemas in France.
2014: he produces Kickback. This film will benefit from an innovative release in “e-cinema”.
2016: Alexandre produces an ambitious musical at the Salle Gaveau in Paris: Oliver Twist Le Musical.
2017: He works with the director Kader Ayd on the thriller “A Day Like a Week” which will be out in 2018.
Since the success of Oliver Twist, Alexandre now has 3 entities in Paris, UPL FILMS, UPL LIVE and UPL MUSIC.
For September 2017, Alexandre Piot and UPL LIVE produce no less than 3 shows: “The Divalala”, :Room 113″ and “Robin Hood: The Legend … or Almost”.
In the process, Alexandre also co-produced a play, “Bouquet Final”, a crazy comedy directed by Olivier Macé. Coming in 2018, the highly anticipated show, “BÔ”, based on music by Catherine Lara with a staging by Guiliano Peparini, an unpublished documentary “Claude François – As you’ve never seen it!”, another about black music in the United Kingdom “Flashback”, as well as many artists (singers, musicians) who will join the newly created, UPL MUSIC team.
Founded in 2003, UPL is an international group of production companies (UK, France, Switzerland and Czech Republic) that initially produced feature films and documentaries (“And the Beat Goes On … Ibiza”, “Temptation”, “Les Amours Secretes”, “Five thirteen”, “A Day Like A Week”…). The founders, Alexandre Piot and Roman Jurik, have successfully developed their activities and know-how. Throughout the projects, the London-based company has grown with subsidiaries in Paris, Prague and recently Geneva.
In France, UPL is organised around 3 entities, UPL FILMS, UPL LIVE and UPL MUSIC allowing UPL to produce all types of audiovisual content, events and shows around the world.
